Our On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) program brings the jobs and employers to you. Major corporations, companies, social service/non-profit organizations, and government agencies come to La Salle’s main campus to interview students seeking full-time employment, internships, and co-ops. The OCR interviews take place in the Career Services office on Main Campus. Fall semester OCR interviews are conducted from mid-September to mid-November; Spring semester interviews typically run from early-February through mid-April.
Here’s how to participate:
The OCR program is open to all current students. The application, selection, and interview sign-up process is managed through our explorenet system. You will need to have your resume approved in explorenet to participate in OCR.
- Have your resume reviewed by a Career Services counselor.
- Sign on to explorenet, complete/update your profile.
- Go to the Documents tab, click ‘Add New’ to upload your resume.
- We will approve your resume within 24 hours
- From your Home screen, go to the ‘Interviews’ section on the right and select “Campus Interviews I Qualify For”
- Click on the job title to expand the description or click on the ‘Apply” but to submit your resume.
- Apply for each job in which you are interested.
- Go to the Interviews tab to check for interview selections and sign up for interviews online.
- Read our OCR Interviewing Policies (below)
By participating on the OCR Program and submitting your resume to positions posted by employers, you are making the commitment that you are seriously interested in those employers and opportunities. You are expected to sign up for and show up for the interview.
A special feature of our On-Campus Recruiting program allows you to meet individually with a career counselor to find out how you did in your interviews. Interview Feedback is offered the day after an interview on a first come, first served basis during our daily Walk-In Hours – 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
OCR INTERVIEWING POLICIES
A missed interview constitutes a serious problem… for the employer, for you, and for our office. La Salle’s policy for missed interviews has been developed to take into account students’ demanding schedules while maintaining a positive relationship with recruiting employers who are spending valuable time visiting campus for your interviews. Ask our recruiting manager or any counselor if you’re unclear on either of these policies as you will be held accountable for missed interviews.
If you submit your resume to an employer participating in our OCR program and are selected for an on-campus interview, you are expected to sign-up for that interview (Check explorenet for upcoming recruiting dates). It is your responsibility to be aware of the interview “sign-up” deadline for each employer. A student who does not contact Career Services to decline an interview or does not sign up for an interview will be considered a “No- Show.” Alternate candidates will be offered your interview.
Once you have scheduled an on-campus interview, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to that interview. If you are unable to make a scheduled interview. you must contact the Recruiting Manager in Career Services to cancel. You will be limited to 3 cancellations per semester.
If you fail to show up for a scheduled interview, you will be considered a “No Show” and you must send a letter of apology to the interviewer. You must also provide a copy of this letter to the Executive Director of Career Services. We encourage you to have your letter reviewed by Career Services before sending it to the interviewer.
A second “No Show” DISQUALIFIES YOU FROM PARTICIPATING IN ANY FURTHER ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWS for the remainder of the academic year. All scheduled interviews will be cancelled and your resume will not be sent to any additional on-campus recruiting employers.
