Meeting Minutes – November 26, 2002

The Fall American Red Cross La Salle University Blood Drive was a huge success (120% of goal achieved) due to collaborative efforts of the members of the Health Advisory Committee. We discussed which personnel should be trained in CPR and Heimlich techniques, in complement/supplement to the training of appropriate University staff to handle the Automated External Defrbillators being purchased through Business Affairs. This discussion led to the issue of OSHA training to assure that proper training is being given to those employees handling body fluids and/or are involved in high risk situations concerning bloodbourne pathogens. The 2003 Health Fair’s title will be ” How the Health are you Doing? A HAC subcommittee will be meeting to develop a survey to determine the extent of smoking in the offices and classroom buildings.
