Meeting Minutes – September 12, 2003

In addition to general business, announcements, and information-sharing, we reviewed and planned reactive and renewed proactive responses to recent and foreseeable security and safety concerns; furthered the development, among ourselves and with leaders of the Phoenix Society student organization of reactive and proactive responses to acts of intolerance in our community; and received an informal update regarding the first several Late Night La Salle weekends. Dr. Cicala advised the team of the submission, on behalf of the team and other division members, of three program/workshop proposals to the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) for the spring, 2004 national convention, to be held in Philadelphia. We discussed with the Provost, Dr. Nigro, and Asst. Provost, Dr. DeTurk, needs and opportunities regarding the facilities and locations of various Academic and Student Affairs offices and programs. We were apprised of Mr. Wendell’s recent meetings with both the staff and members of the Men’s Basketball Team regarding reactive and proactive responses to campus incidents in which team members may be involved. We discussed the request presented by Information Technology for assistance in identifying the IP addresses of all computers in student residences, in order to isolate and deal with the “blaster” virus, and Community Development’s plans to fulfill that request.
