Meeting Minutes – February 14, 2004

In addition to general business, announcements, and information-sharing, we finalized the list of divisional staff members who may be offered the opportunity to teach sections of Freshman Year Odyssey (FYO) next fall and continued preparations for the presentations about our work that we will make at April’s American College Personnel Association (ACPA) national conference. We met with the Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees, with whom we reviewed the data from our spring, 2003 administrations of the College Student Experiences Questionnaire (CSEQ) and the Association of College and University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I) Resident Satisfaction Survey. We participated in University Ministry and Service’s first, and very successful, Service Trips Auction and in our division’s fifth annual Late Night Breakfast for the student community. We responded in association to the needs of our community, along with many other members of the community, when a public works accident caused a massive fire (in connection with which no one was hurt, fortunately) that caused the evacuation, for 18 hours (overnight), of the Manor, in which we lease student housing. We finalized and successfully implemented our plans, in association with Security and Safety, to support our Masque’s first weekend of performances of The Laramie Project and to respond to expressions of contrasting points of view.
