Meeting Minutes – November 11, 2004

The issue of OSHA compliance at the University was discussed in response to an anonymous letter that was sent to the Health Advisory committee. It was agreed to bring the concerns to Human Resources. Continued discussion took place regarding compliance with new smoking regulations. The monthly Health Advisory Health Tip will be initiated this month and will center on Flu Prevention; health info will be placed in Campus News, on the Portal, in Bathroom stalls and possibly in the Collegian. We also followed up on the issue of Over the Counter drugs being sold in the bookstore and food market that are perhaps inappropriate for a college age population due to the risk of misuse i.e. sominex, vivarin & no doz. It was noted that the food court responded to the HAC’s suggestions to remove these medications but the book store stated that any change would need to go through the Vice President of Business Affairs.
