Meeting Minutes – March 17, 2005

The Activities Funding Board allotted $9,454.00 to two student organizations. In addition, the Board allotted $12,000.00 towards the purchase of a van for student use. Members of Sts. Bernard, Denis & George (BDG) Resident Student Association (RSA) were allotted $3,454.00 for the BDG LUAU to be held on April 24, 2005. This event is open to all students and includes food, games, and entertainment. Also, members of the Commencement Year Committee were allotted $6,000.00 for a dinner cruise aboard the “Spirit of Philadelphia” to be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2005. This will be a part of the Commencement Week programming for seniors. The Board also heard from members of La Cycle, a student-led initiative to bring recycling to the resident halls and Union Building. The group requested $5,704.50 for recycling bins and promotional resources. The Board liked the idea, but denied funding. The Board invited La Cycle to return for funding in the future, and to cover more details in their future proposal. In addition, the Board would like the group to secure participation/support from the Resident Student Association (RSA), provide a list of volunteers, and have statements of support from Physical Facilities and Community Development/Community Development Advisory Board.
