Participants are expected to attend weekly meetings and other team functions and events. These are mandatory and serve to teach participants about the social issues at hand and strengthen the team dynamic. Absences can lead to group breakdown, resentment, and frustration. Participants may be asked to obtain and/or provide necessary background materials in accordance to the University and UMAS policy. Students are responsible for 100% of the cost of such materials. Students will need to attend Mandatory Reporter Training.
Participants, on fundraising programs, are responsible for the total cost of the program. Approximately half the cost (“deposit”) will be born directly by the participant (deposit amount for each program will be published separately). The remaining cost of the program will be fundraised as a group. Participants are required to help with all fundraising efforts made by the team. Failure to do so will result in removal from the program. All fees must be paid before your program departs. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE except in the case of “extreme circumstances.” Students are still responsible for the full-deposit amount even if they can no longer participate in the program. All students must have current health insurance.
