The Alliance is a program that works to provide a safe space and support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning, and Straight students; sponsors educational programs; and engages in direct service.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Straight Alliance (LGBTSA) at La Salle University pledges to provide a safe place and support for the LGBTSA members of the community. Through educational programs, outreach projects, social activities, and efforts of advocacy for equal rights, the organization aims to be a resource for its own members and provide a service to the entire La Salle community. Through these endeavors, members of this group intend to embrace diversity and to promote inclusion in accordance with La Sallian tradition and the University’s own mission: “La Salle…wants students to liberate themselves from narrow interests and prejudices…” In particular, LGBTSA through free speech seeks to challenge any expression of racism and sexism. Heterosexism or other forms of discrimination based on a group’s or a person’s actual [or] perceived “difference”.
