AIDS Outreach visits Calcutta House residents living with HIV; engages in therapeutic social activities; and sponsors on-campus educational programs.
The mission of AIDS Outreach is to serve the community by working through F.O.C.U.S. and in conjunction with Calcutta House. Three times a week, La Salle volunteers visit the residents of Calcutta House, strengthening their relationships with the residents through various social activities.
Through AIDS Outreach, La Salle students can gain a better understanding of the effects of HIV/AIDS by forming relationships with the Calcutta House residents. AIDS Outreach works to promote a better understanding and to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS within our campus community.
As a program we try to provide recreational activities in and around Philadelphia through our Buddy Programs. Through our activities we try to form deeper relationships between volunteers and the residents.
