We have found that most international health insurance plans purchased often require the students to make payment at the time services are rendered and then submit claims to be reimbursed later. Therefore, it is recommended that all international students purchase a health insurance plan from a United States company.
The university-sponsored insurance is administered through First Student Insurance Company. This insurance plan offers basic coverage at a very reasonable cost. We strongly urge you to consider purchasing this policy if you are not adequately covered under another health insurance plan.
How do I choose a Health Insurance Plan (if I do not decide to enroll in First Student Health Insurance)
There are many factors to consider when choosing health insurance. These factors may be different if you are choosing one of several employer health plan options or buying your own health insurance. All health insurance plans purchased must adhere to the La Salle University Health Insurance Policy on the previous page!
