The 100 Days To Go Dinner was very successful this year. The attendance for the dinner this year stood at 167 people, twenty more people than attended last year.
The students who attended the dinner were given a copy of the book Life After School Explained. The book gives practical advice regarding transitional issues graduating students will be dealing with in the immediate future.
The book Life After School Explained will be adapted into a presentation by Dr. Kris Bronson. Dr. Bronson is a licensed psychologist. Dr. Bronson will facilitate a “train the trainers” presentation. The presentation will be geared to Division of Student Affairs staff members who would like to facilitate 30-45 minute presentations to graduating students.
The goal of Dr. Bronson’s presentation is to facilitate presentations addressing transitional issues for graduating students at different times and locations in March and April to accommodate the hectic schedules of our students.
The presentation will be on Friday, March 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dunleavy Room. Chris Kazmierczak has emailed DSA staff about Dr. Bronson’s presentation. There will be an orientation session for staff interested in working at St. Neumann for Commencement Week. Mark will reach out to staff that worked Commencement Week 2004 in St. Neumann for suggestions on training topics for an orientation. Chris Kazmierczak was contacted about Physical Facilities requesting the check-in time for students be at noon on May 7 instead of 10:00 a.m. The new furniture in being delivered to the new residence hall on May 7 and Physical Facilities cannot clean St. Miguel at 10:00 a.m.
Kathy Swank has expressed an interest in taking a lead role in the production of the Commencement Week packet and publicity to help energize the presentation of our material. The CY Team wants upgrade the publicity to make it more visually appealing so people will have an added incentive to read the information.
We reviewed each event from Saturday, May 7- Friday, May 13. The event planning is going well.
The ticket sales for Commencement Week will occur from Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 29. The sales will be in the Community Development Office, Union 303, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. There will be some evening hours posted at a later date.
