The Activities Funding Board allotted $20,518.95 to nine student organizations, and $3,000 to a set-aside budget.
Members of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) were allocated $1,397.50 to attend the SIFE Regional Competition, scheduled for March 26-28, 2006 in Boston. SIFE was also allocated $2,195.85 to attend the SIFE National Competition, scheduled for May 21-24, 2006 in Kansas City, Missouri, provided the group qualifies.
Members of the Psychology Club/Psi Chi were allocated $946.00 to attend the Eastern Psychological Annual Meeting, scheduled for March 17-19, 2006 in Baltimore, and members of the Honors Programming Board were allocated $285.00 to attend the Northeast Region of the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference, be held April 6-9, 2006 in Pittsburgh.
Members of the Resident Student Association (RSA) were allocated $4,000 to host speaker Dennis Haskins (TV’s Principal Belding from ‘Saved by the Bell’) on April 7, 2006, members of Peer Educators were allocated $1,908.10 for a Mock Prom to be held March 16, 2006, and members of Alpha Theta Alpha were allocated $2,000.00 for their 5th Annual Wingfest, scheduled for April 3, 2006.
Members of Student’s Government Association were allocated $4,200.00 for t-shirts for the Basketball Marathon, scheduled for March 24-25, 2006, and members of the Step Team were allocated $2,086.50 for 40 tickets for the ‘Madea Goes to Jail” stage play.
Finally, the Bus Budget was allocated $3,000.00 for the remainder of the semester, and members of the InterFraternity Sorority Council were allocated $1,500.00 for a Blackout Day Program to raise awareness of drunken driving.
