The Physical Facilities Department and Division of Student Affairs collaborate weekly to communicate needs, requests, and other issues pertaining to student residences, as well as divisional facilities and resources.

No meeting, Thanksgiving Holiday.
Following general business and maintenance request updates, Thanksgiving Closing procedures were discussed. Information was provided on the Manor elevators and plans were announced for the installation of operable windows in the St. Katharine’s East lounge rooms over the Christmas break.
Use of guest space accommodations was the first item of discussion. Concerns over lack of proper trash removal by Manor residents were shared and an announcement was made regarding the newly vacant Housing Services Assistant position.
Updates on various maintenance requests and projects were provided followed by discussion on securing windows in the North Halls complex. The tentative Summer 2005 conference group schedule was shared and a lengthy discussion regarding logistics ensued.
Confirmation was received that the heat has been turned on in the residential facilities. Discussion shifted to hot water issues in the Manor. Procedures for replacing fire extinguishers were reviewed and we learned of a proposal to turn the St. … Continue reading

Physical Facilities’ role in Commencement Week was discussed as well as in up coming activities relating to Spring Fling. Decisions are being made on which St. Miguel units to take off line during the summer for extensive repairs.
In addition to general business and maintenance request updates, we learned that the University’s service provider for extermination is still receiving repeat requests for a handful of rooms. Planning for summer continued. Updates from each area were provided.
Following general business and maintenance request updates, discussion focused on revisiting procedures to reset fire alarm pull stations in the Manor Apartments. An update was provided on vandalism.
In addition to general business and maintenance request updates, custodial requests for residential spaces were discussed. We learned that television cable installation was required in the new St. Katharine triples. End-of-semester closing procedures were reviewed.
The making of plans to further address rodent issues followed updates on various maintenance requests. We were reminded, again, that the Br. Augustine Center on Uber Street requires attention by the grounds crew on a regular basis.
Discussion focused on excessive trash in front of several units and in the dumpsters at St. Miguel. Initiating summer plans for refurbishment and conferences was also shared.
